During a recent trip down south for a family wedding, two of our favorite food spots we found in Charleston were mere blocks from one another. Southern cooking at Hominy Grill and Pan Asian fare in an old garage at Xiao Bao Biscuit were devoured with equal enthusiasm.
The Pompidou Centre. There were two major highlights during our day here. The first was the exhibition, Dreamlands. It was about the human propensity for creating fantastical themepark-like cities and tourist destinations. The second was an amazing lunch shared with my parents at Restaurant Georges up on the sixth floor. It had a stunning view of the city (that we could just make out through the fog) and the decor was something else.
Foam Museum was a much-anticipated photography gallery/museum that didn’t disappoint. They had a beautiful backyard area that unfortunately wasn’t open due to the weather. They have a fantastic journal that I could have bought their entire back-catalog of, but had to settle for just one copy.
